Weave Across America coverlet project, 2026. Statement: I reimagined the flag set against a rough spun linen, dyed with Metcalfe County, Kentucky grown fress leaf indigo. Theis rustic piece reflects the resiliency of our people. Fresh leaf indigo dyeing and linen production was the craft of persons who were enslaved, women, children, and later working class. Process: I spun processed flax to linen, dyed it in fresh leaf indigo to make the warp, weft is commercial white linen and red perle cotton; warped faced plain weave.
